Kendall County Girl to Dance Onstage with Justin Bieber
The 11-year-old girl was one of four kids from the Chicago area to be chosen.

An 11-year-old Kendall County girl will be just a few feet from stardom when she takes the stage with Justin Bieber Friday night in Rosemont.
Mykenzie Schultz is from the small town of Millbrook. She was chosen from thousands of kids who submitted a dance video to Nick Demoura, creative director and choreographer of Bieber’s “Purpose” tour.

In March, Demoura announced a contest seeking kids from around each tour city to dance onstage with Bieber during the song “Children.” The kids had to learn the choreography and then make their own video of them dancing.
And Mykenzie had the moves to make the cut.

Mykenzie said she’s a big fan of Bieber. She likes his “smooth yet upbeat” sound. His music also has a good beat she can dance to.
Despite dancing for practically her entire life, she’s still nervous to be on stage in front of thousands of people.
“But I feel really excited,” Mykenzie said.
She’s not 100 percent certain if she’ll get to meet Bieber, but she certainly hopes so.
In the meantime, she’s been doing a lot of practicing. Mykenzie said she’s been going through the moves a couple times every night.
Three other suburban kids have also been chosen to dance behind Bieber. Mykenzie said she’s talked to some of them on Instagram.
According to her mom, Christy Schultz, Mykenzie has been dancing for as long as she can remember.
“She has performed on stage more times than I can count and has been a competition dancer since she was four years old,” Schultz said in an email.
But what about her little girl in a big city on a stage with arguably one of the world’s biggest stars?
“As her mother, I am freaking out,” she said. “Of course in a good way. This is a once in a lifetime experience.”
Mykenzie will take the stage with the other winners Friday night at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.
