OSWEGO, IL — Oswego and Yorkville agreed on a new boundary line, with Oswego annexing Fox Bluff Campground on Route 71.

Oswego trustees voted Jan. 6 on a boundary agreement to renew the previous one approved one ratified in 2002 and expired in 2022. As developments occur, the agreement, valid for 20 years, identifies which community has jurisdictional control over projects.

Yorkville and Oswego began discussing renewing their agreement in 2022. A new owner acquired Fox Bluff that year and wanted to annex the property as part of a rehabilitation of the site, according to village documents.

Campgrounds were on Yorkville's side of the border, but the city did not have an interest in annexing the property, officials said.

With the boundary agreement up for renewal, the municipalities drafted a proposed boundary incorporating Fox Bluff into Oswego.
