SD308 Announces Additional Activities For High School Seniors
The district is sponsoring a Red Carpet Welcome, Food Truck Celebration and Night Under the Stars Outdoor Movie Event next month.
OSWEGO, IL — After announcing May graduation plans last month, Community Unit School District 308 has revealed additional celebrations planned for this year's senior class.
On May 7, the district will host a Red Carpet Welcome. For this event, students are encouraged to dress-up, go to their high school and walk the red carpet. A special backdrop will be present to appear in photos of the event.
Students will be asked to choose a time slot, and groups will be staggered to allow for social distancing. In coordination with the Oswego Chamber of Commerce, there also will be local dinner specials or other small group activities in the area that will be shared with students who wish to participate.

The following day, two district-wide events will take place, one at each high school. From 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 8, Oswego High will host a Food Truck Celebration. There will be music, food trucks and yard games. Two 90-minute time slots will be available and food tables will be spaced to accommodate social distancing.
At 7:30 p.m. on May 8, Oswego East will host a Night Under the Stars Outdoor Movie Event. The film will be broadcast on two large screens. Students can reserve a space outdoors and bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating in assigned, socially distanced areas. Concessions will be served.
