Threat Scrawled On Bathroom Walls Leads To Investigation At OHS

A threat found scrawled on two bathroom walls included a date and four names, according to OHS.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police are investigating a threat found written on the walls in two boys' bathrooms at Oswego High School Tuesday, according to a message sent to parents by Principal Mike Wayne. In the message, Wayne said staff was alerted to the threatening messages, both of which included a date of Oct. 9 and one contained "a list of four first names."

Wayne's message said the writing has been removed, and there will be additional security at OHS while the incident is investigated by police and school staff.

"We are taking this very seriously and working closely with police as they attempt to identify the individual(s) responsible," the message said, adding:

.. We appreciate the students who came forward to report the writing. As always, we encourage students to be aware of their surroundings and report anything that does not seem right. We will continue to work with law enforcement to keep our students and staff safe and engaged in learning.

Parents were asked to speak with their students about the incident and to contact Oswego police or the district emergency hotline 630-636-4679 with any information.

630-551-7300, or report it anonymously to Kendall Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999. Tips leading to arrests are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
