• Details Announced For Annual Oswego Cemetery Walk (patch.com) — Oswego residents can get into spooky season with two upcoming history events at Oswego Township Cemetery, organized by the Little White School Museum. A Sept. 25 history tour offers background on the historic burial ground, while the popular Oct. 1 cemetery walk features costumed interpreters portraying past Oswego residents. Both require registration and are held in partnership with the Oswegoland Park District and Heritage Association.

• Five Oswego students among those honored in statewide youth poetry contest (shawlocal.com) — Five Oswego students have earned top honors and honorable mentions in the 2026 Gwendolyn Brooks Youth Poetry Awards, standing out among more than a thousand entries statewide. Their winning and recognized poems span grades seven through twelve, and they'll be celebrated at a special ceremony in Chicago on Sept. 19, spotlighting young Oswego voices in Illinois' literary community.
