Former Palatine Restaurant Owner Dies Following Bee Sting
Guy Jacobucci, who lived in unincorporated Palatine Township, died Sunday after suffering an anaphylactic reaction.

A senior vice president at a Schaumburg insurance company died over the weekend after suffering an anaphylactic reaction from a bee sting, the Daily Herald reports.
Guy Jacobucci, 49, who is the former owner of a restaurant in Palatine, called 911 around 4 p.m. Sunday to report he was having an adverse reaction after being stung by a bee, according to the article

“He had called saying he was having a reaction,” Sophia Ansari, a spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office told the Chicago Tribune. “His injuries were swelling to the tongue and throat.”
He was taken to Northwest Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m., according to the newspaper.

Jacobucci was a senior vice president at Assurance Insurance in Schaumburg.
“He was a beloved figure here,” said Steven Handmaker, one of his supervisors at Assurance, told the Chicago Tribune. “You don’t just sort of know Guy. When you know him, he is immediately in your life and your family, and that’s true of his clients as well.”
Jacobucci was a former chef who was passionate about cooking and enjoyed throwing parties at his home in the 2000 block of Crestwood, according to the Chicago Tribune. He opened Savoia T’go in Palatine in 2003. In his LinkedIn profile, Jacobucci described his time running Savoia T’go as his “radical sabbatical from the corporate world.”
