People, as a whole, are generally resistant to change due to the fear of the unknown. However, for you Facebook business users, there is no need to fear! The most recent redesign of the page is completely aimed at becoming more administrator and user friendly, with only minor design changes to the timeline. One could say the changes are mostly cosmetic, with Facebook strictly moving the general information around to different places. Now lets take a deeper dive and explore these changes together.
The Core Changes

1. Easier Access to Administrator Tools – The dreaded panel at the top of your business page that used to push everything down a foot is now gone! Instead, you now have a navigation bar at the top of the page with different tabs for page, activity, insight, and settings. What’s nice about this feature is the navigation bar follows you wherever you go on the page, making it very easy to check your scheduled posts and activities for the day.

2. New Location for the App Tabs – The app tabs, previously existing as boxes below your cover photo, are now located under the “more” category, which is a drop down menu. They are also located on the left side of the page, which is the newly classified “business” section of your page (see Reformatted Column for Posts). This change is fairly insignificant, and in reality, makes the access to the actual information of the page that much more accessible. Successful use of the tabs still relies on the ability to drive traffic to them, so there is nothing significantly different here.
3. Reformatted Column for Posts – The timeline is now strictly on the right hand column, making it much easier to navigate than before. This places all of the business information strictly on the left side, which allows for the overall style to look more like a personal Facebook profile. Previously, shuffling back and forth trying to figure out which of the posts were actually relevant was rather inconvenient.
4. Weekly Management – On the far right hand side of your page, you will notice a small overview of your posting reach, different ads running, and the number of page likes, notifications, and unread messages. This is just another extension of the newly designed administrator panel aimed to help you have all relevant information directly accessible to you in a user-friendly manner.
5. The ability to highlight posts is gone. Since the timeline is only one column, it makes sense that this feature will be gone. However, you will still be able to pin posts to the top of your timeline.
As stated earlier, these changes to Facebook are not intended to completely redesign your page, but to make it more aesthetically pleasing and user friendly for users and administrators. Let’s all hope Facebook made some good calls on these modifications for a better user and business experience!
