Palatine Son Accused of Decapitating Mom Seeks Release From Mental Health Center
Karl Sneider testified he killed his mother because God told him he was Jesus Christ and his mom was Satan, according to court proceedings.

A 39-year-old Palatine man who was found not guilty by reason of insanity for cutting off his mom’s head and leaving it on her porch in 2013 is now seeking release from the Elgin Mental Health Center, the Daily Herald reports.
A Cook County judge on Wednesday heard arguments from Karl Sneider’s attorney who is seeking the conditional release of his client who he says no longer poses a threat, according to the newspaper.
During his court proceedings, Sneider testified that God told him he was Jesus Christ and that he needed to kill his mother who was Satan. The woman, who was 49 years old at the time, was beaten, stabbed and decapitated in her Palatine home.
