Home of the Sparrow’s Palatine Sparrow’s Nest Thrift Store, located at 275 E NW Hwy, will be opening soon. Thirty to fifty volunteers, ages 16 and over, are needed to help with variety of tasks such as accepting, sorting, cleaning, pricing, and displaying donated merchandise. Volunteers are also needed in specialized areas such as cashiering, floral arrangement, window dressing, and store design.

Net proceeds from all seven of Home of the Sparrow’s thrift stores help provide programs and services that help women and children as they journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Stores also provide clothing, furniture and housewares to Home of the Sparrow clients and clients of other partnering agencies in Northern Illinois at no cost.

Sparrow's Nest Thrift Stores are located in Cary, McHenry, Mundelein, Palatine, Third Lake and Woodstock. The Community Threads thrift store is located in Arlington Heights.
