Revving up an economic engine: Palatine ready to invest $3 million in TIF dollars for four Dundee Road properties (dailyherald.com) — Palatine's village council has approved spending up to $3 million in TIF funds to buy four Dundee Road parcels near Rand Road, aiming to clear problem buildings and spur new private development. Tenants like El Rey del Pollo Asado and Hertz can stay for now, while the village assembles land to attract future projects in this key commercial corridor.

Northwest suburbs teaming up for homeless outreach (dailyherald.com) — Palatine is part of a new Northwest suburban consortium planning to share the cost of a full-time homeless outreach case manager starting in January. Social workers from Palatine and neighboring towns have tracked rising homelessness, including 62 police dispatch calls in Palatine last year, and hope coordinated street outreach will better connect people to housing, health care, and benefits.
