Sparrow’s Nest Thrift Stores in McHenry, Woodstock, Cary, Palatine, Mundelein, and Third Lake, along with Community Thread’s Thrift Store in Arlington Heights need volunteers. Volunteers help with a variety of tasks such as accepting, sorting, cleaning, pricing, and displaying donated merchandise. Volunteers are also needed in specialized areas such as cashiering, floral arrangement, window dressing, and store design. Home of the Sparrow is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides Transitional Shelter, Housing, Rental Assistance, Outreach and Case Management services to homeless women and children.
