Crime Busters: Register Your Security Camera With Palos Park PD
Help Palos Park police solve future crimes by registering your home or business security camera in the confidential 'Block Watch' program.

PALOS PARK, IL -- Palos Park residents and business owners with outdoor security video cameras are invited to join the “Block Watch” program to help police solve neighborhood crimes. Registering your cameras in this program will let the Palos Park Police Department know that you’re willing to share footage if police are investigating a crime in your area. The program is voluntary and completely confidential; residents or businesses will NOT be identified if their security video is used as evidence in a trial.
Often times, investigators have found when canvassing a neighborhood after a crime occurred, that a home security video system may have captured an image of a suspect or suspicious vehicle. This can be a valuable lead that can aid in investigation, such as the summer’s unlocked vehicle thefts or this past weekend’s dramatic video of hooligans allegedly hurling smoke bombs at houses.
There is no charge to participate in this program and participants will be kept confidential. Participants may withdraw from the program anytime. Palos Park police will NOT have direct access to participants’ cameras.
