Orland Park Men Face Gun Charges In Separate Palos Hills Traffic Stops

Two Orland Park men were charged in separate traffic incidents after guns were discovered in their vehicles, Palos Hills police said.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Two Orland Park men were charged in separate traffic incidents after guns were discovered in their vehicles, Palos Hills police said.

The first traffic stop happened Oct. 10 near 79th Avenue and 111th Street. Officers found a loaded Millennium G2 9mm handgun in the center console.

Hamza Zaid, 32, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, illegal transportation of cannabis and other traffic offenses, reports said. Zaid was given a station notification form and appeared Oct. 11 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

A second Orland Park man, Ahmad J. Ahmad, Jr., 32, was pulled over on Oct. 9 in the 7800 block of West 103rd Street. According to the report, officers found a Glock 22 (.40 caliber) with an auto sear capable of turning the pistol in a machine gun, an extended magazine and mounted light and laser.

Ahmad was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of cannabis between 500 grams and 2,000 grams, and driving on a suspended license. No court information was available. He had his first hearing Oct. 10 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
