We are lucky to live in an area where there are so many interesting, small museums. The Kane-DuPage Regional Museum Association put together the "Passport to Adventure Program" to highlight many of these local treasures.
What's great about the Passport to Adventure Program is that the museums are very affordable. Entrance fees range from free to just a few dollars. Also, the museums tend to be small, so you can take your kids for a couple of hours just to get them out of the house. These museums make it easy to drop in, see something new and head home.
There are museums for every interest from science to nature to art. Most sites have activities designed just for children. At the first location you visit, your children can ask for the Passport to Adventure. As you visit different locations this summer, your children can collect stamps -- just like a travel passport.

Children from 4 though 12 will enjoy the Passport to Adventure Program. The program runs through Labor Day, so there is plenty of time to fill your summer with adventure. Passports can be -picked up at one of the 50 local museums or libraries that are participating in the program.
