Revival Yoga Studio Seeks to Inspire in Palos Heights

Palos Heights woman wants others to experience the benefits of yoga in their lives.

A Palos Heights woman’s dream of owning a yoga studio came to fruition July 15, with the opening of Revival Yoga Wellness Studio, 7209 W. College Drive in Palos Heights.

It was a labor of love for founder Megan Doyle.

“This has been a long learning process of all aspects of opening a business,” she wrote on the business’s Facebook page. “There has been so much time put into this space, so many levels of every emotion put into this space as well. Tears happy and sad.”

Doyle and her husband teamed up on the space, where yogi of any stage can practice the art.

“The main goal of Revival is to bring to the community what helped me get to who I am today,” Doyle said. “It is made up of everything I feel is beneficial for one to come to terms with who they are internally and to project that love onto the world.”

Classes range in format and experience level, and offerings include not only yoga, but Pilates, interval training, bootcamp and more. Doyle also offers a karma class each Sunday, a free class where visitors can try out any class that strikes their curiosity. For those looking to try yoga for the first time, Revival offers a ”judgment-free” zone.

“Revival is the perfect place to open the door to the world of yoga,” Doyle said. “We have classes that cater to the needs of people from ages 0-100 and with every class there will be a modification to every pose so everyone is able to experience the benefit brought by each pose.”

The studio includes a “mini-Buddha waiting room,” where parents can bring their children to interact with others while they take a class.

“As a parent, it is easy for guilt to arise when you do something for yourself, and that is unfair,” Doyle said. ”In order to be the best you can be, you cannot be burnt-out; so the kids’ room makes it easier for the parent to have their child taken care of under the same roof as they taking care of themselves.”

Doyle found her inspiration on the West Coast—the studio is “simple, colorful and relaxing.” One wall is dedicated to local artists, where they can display and sell their work.

“I feel that looking at art is another form of meditation since you have to stop, look and ponder on what the artist has created,” Doyle said.

“Please know when you arrive at Revival, you are entering a non-judgmental, non-religious, non-hate community,” Doyle wrote on the studio’s website. “We practice unity here because after all, we all want the same thing.

“...There are powerful and amazing people working within Revival. ... Revival is run only with equal love, compassion and integrity to spread the message of how powerful the connection is of mind and body.”
