Teen Confesses To Robbing 7-Eleven In Palos Heights: Cops
Palos Heights police said the teen, who is a juvenile, was arrested in another town for a similar robbery and turned himself on Tuesday.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — A teen confessed to robbing a convenience store in Palos Heights last month after he was arrested in another town for a similar robbery, Palos Heights police said in a news release. The teen’s name is not being released because he was a juvenile. A second suspect remains at large.
Around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 31, police said the teen and another accomplice rushed an employee at 7-Eleven, 6350 W. 135th St. The employee told police she was working when the teen appeared behind the counter and shoved her out of the way, police said.

According to police, the teen smashed the cash drawers on the floor. The teen allegedly scooped up the cash. Police said he ran through the emergency exit where his pal held open the door. Both were seen fleeing in a small, dark-colored sedan. The employee was not injured.
Before entering the store, police said the two were seen talking to a woman who appeared to know them.

The teen suspect was arrested in Burbank on Sept. 8 where police said he was committing a similar robbery. He turned himself Tuesday to Palos Heights police, where he is said to have made a full confession.

During their investigation, Palos Heights police learned of other similar robberies in neighboring towns, including Hickory Hills, Bedford Park, Burbank, Evergreen Park, Northbrook, Riverside and Addison. Police said a common vehicle was seen near the other robberies, and the same suspects were captured on surveillance video.
The teen has been charged with strong arm robbery and will be prosecuted in juvenile court. Anyone with information about the second suspect is asked to call the Palos Heights Police Department at 708-448-5060, or 911.
