The increasing number of people living with dementia and heightened public awareness of the Alzheimer’s and other disease have increased public concern about our own brain health. One might wonder, are misplaced car-keys or a forgotten name first signs of a serious problem. This workshop assists participants in distinguishing between normal cognitive changes which are part of the aging process and many types of brain disorders which might cause dementia. Current research about factors and the reduction of risk for dementia will be discussed.
