Thomas Emil Tehan, Age 84, of Plainfield, peacefully passed at home surrounded by family on Friday, March 18, 2011.
Born August 24, 1926 in Wrightstown, NJ, Resident of Plainfield for the last 38 years, Thomas has been cared for at home by his devoted daughter Robynne Tehan and much loved granddaughter Souzannah Cikaukas the last few years battling a debilitating illness.
Thomas is survived by six children, Bruce Tehan, John Tehan, Susan Tehan Jasica, Sharon (Lee) Hartley, Donna (Walter) Augustin, and Robynne Tehan; one brother Archibald L. Tehan; daughter-in-law Peggy Sue Tehan; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Archibald LeRoy and Minnie Tehan, soulmate/wife Polly Ann Tehan, sons Thomas Edwin Tehan sad Thomas Zachariah Tehan, brother John Perkins, and sister Florence Tehan.
Thomas is a World War II Navy Veteran. After graduating from the University of Wyoming with a degree in civil engineering, he began an illustrious career spanning fifty years that included work in the Apollo Space Program to new discoveries in the nuclear energy field including safe transporting and recycling of nuclear fuel. His hobbies foremost were times with his family, feeding the birds outside, and listening to Cubs games on the radio.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21st from 5:00-7:00 pm at , 15219 S. Joliet Road (Corner of Rts. 30 & 59), Plainfield, IL 60544. A service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Sam Murphy officiating. Family and friends will gather Tuesday, March 22, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and process to Plainfield Township Cemetery.
