Annual Summer Concert Series Kicks Off Thursday
The free shows are held monthly in Settler's Park; first up is BBI, a band that does covers from the 1960s through today.

If live music, the great outdoors and free of charge add up to a perfect summer evening, mark your calendar for the upcoming 2011 Concerts in the Park series.
Once a month, 7:30 p.m. concerts are held in the Richard A. Rock Amphitheater in , located behind Plainfield Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport St.

- June 16: BBI, a cover band that does music from the 1960s to present day from artists such as Prince, the Temptations, Cool and the Gang, Ciara and Beyonce. Check out their Web site at www.bbilive.com.
- July 14: The Renditions, a cover band that does pop and rock songs from the 1950s, '60s and '70s. Check out their Web site at www.renditionsband.com.
- Aug. 11: Bopology, a swing and jazz group that covers Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, and big band classics with the vocal style of the Rat Pack. Check out their Web site at www.bopology.com.
Terraced seating is available, and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Concessions will be sold. Parking is located behind village hall.
