Excessive Heat Warning Causes Change In Plainfield Garbage Pickup

Heat indices of 115 are possible on Wednesday, and up to 110 on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection in Plainfield was altered this week as a result of excessive heat, officials said.

The National Weather Service said it will be "dangerously hot" this week, with possible heat index values of up to 115. Heat indices of 115 are possible on Wednesday, and up to 110 on Thursday, Patch reported.

Friday will still be warm with a high of 89, but turning less humid during the afternoon hours, the weather service said.

As a result, Waste Management will begin collection at 5 a.m. through Friday, officials announced. Residents should have their bins set out at the curb by that time.
