Fall Plays to Hit the Stage at Plainfield Schools

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and veterans.

PLAINFIELD, IL — District 202’s four high school auditoriums will be very busy in November as the schools present their fall plays.

Here is this year’s lineup:

Plainfield High School-Central Campus will present “Anchors Aweigh,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016; and at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13.

Set sail with gangsters, princes and librarians all looking for something on this hilarious voyage full of mischief, superstitions and hidden identities. The bold and crazy passengers will get swept away with mistaken identities, lively chase scenes and a storm that almost sets the entire cruise aground.

Plainfield South High School will present “Peter Pan or the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up,” at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6.

Join Peter Pan and the Darling children on their exciting adventures in Never Never Land as they help the Lost Boys vanquish the evil Captain Hook.

Plainfield North High School presents “Radium Girls,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19 and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20.

In 1926, radium was in vogue and used for a variety of things from shrinking tumors to illuminating watch dials. That was until the women who painted the dials began to get sick from a mysterious illness.
Inspired by a true story, “Radium Girls” traces the efforts of factory worker Grace Fryer as she fights for her day in court.

Plainfield East High School will present “Peter and The Starcatcher,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10; Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

“Peter and the Starcatcher” is the humorous and fantastical backstory for the beloved character of Peter Pan and his arch-nemesis, Captain Hook.

Tickets are $7 adults, $5 for District 202 staff and students, senior and children younger than 5.

Tickets will be available in the Plainfield East High School Student Services office from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or at the door.
