Fewer Tickets Issued During Plainfield Holiday Campaign: Police
The police department issued a total of 33 citations — significantly fewer tickets compared to the Thanksgiving campaign.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield Police Department's holiday safety campaign has ended, and released numbers show police issued seven speeding tickets during the enforcement period that started Dec. 17 — significantly fewer than during the Thanksgiving campaign.
Between Dec. 17 and Jan. 3, law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in the effort to get impaired drivers off roads and ensure people are buckled up. Department officials said extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours, which statistics show is when most unbuckled and impaired driving deaths occur.
During this time, Plainfield police issued a total of 33 tickets — two for suspended or revoked licenses, seven for speeding, 22 for seat belt and child safety, and two others, the department announced Monday.
