Halloween Enforcement Results Released By Plainfield Police

Officers issued a total of 119 citations during their holiday campaign that ran from Oct. 14 to Nov. 1.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police released the results of their Halloween campaign, revealing officers issued a total of 119 tickets during the two-week enforcement period.

Officers upped their enforcement between Oct. 14 and Nov. 1 in an effort to save lives by getting more drivers and passengers to buckle up. Police emphasized enforcement during late-night hours when statistics show most car occupants are unbuckled, according to a news release.

  • 29 speeding
  • 51 seat belt
  • 4 child safety seat
  • 2 distracted driving
  • 33 others

Police also made three criminal arrests and two for driver's license issues.

The fall campaign was paid for by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
