$60K In IDOT Grant Funding Issued To Plainfield Police Department

The grant will be used to fund traffic enforcement campaigns and education initiatives throughout the year.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department received $60,030 in grant funding from the Illinois Department of Transportation to conduct education and enforcement activities.

The grant will be spread out throughout the year to enforce seat belt wearing, speeding, distracted and impaired driving and other violations that contribute to crashes, officials said in a news release Wednesday.

The Plainfield Police Department receives IDOT funding each year. This year's grant is part of IDOT's 2024 fiscal year, which runs from October 1, 2023 to Sept. 30, 2024.
