Hawk Subaru Hosts 6th Annual Fill-a-Forester Toys for Tots Toy Drive

Hawk Subaru proudly hosted the 6th annual Subies of the Corn Fill-a-Forester Toy Drive on Saturday, December 7th, 2024. Over 1,900 toys were collected and filled five Subaru Foresters to capacity. This cherished annual tradition has become a shining example of goodwill, highlighting Hawk Subaru and Subies of the Corn’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

In alignment with Subaru's commitment to community service, the event was held in collaboration with the Subaru Loves to Help® initiative. All collected toys will be distributed to children in Will, Grundy, and Kendall Counties in Illinois through Toys for Tots, spreading joy to families in need and embodying the true essence of the holiday spirit.

Continuing the charitable journey, on Sunday, December 8, 2024, Subies of the Corn organized a car cruise from Hawk Subaru to the US Marine Corps Reserve Center in Joliet, IL. The purpose was to hand-deliver the collected toys directly to Toys for Tots, a testament to the strong partnership forged between the Subies of the Corn community and this time-honored program.

The toy delivery cruise took a scenic route through Grundy and Will Counties, featuring some of the picturesque roads overlooking the area’s rivers. Upon arrival at the Marine Corps Reserve Center, Subies of the Corn members actively unloaded and sorted the toys, ensuring a seamless process for toy distribution.

This event not only reflects the commitment of Hawk Subaru and Subies of the Corn to their local community but also highlights the power of collaboration in making a meaningful difference in the lives of those less fortunate. The overwhelming success of the 6th Annual Subies of the Corn Fill-a-Forester Toy Drive demonstrates the collective generosity and compassion that define the holiday season.

As part of their ongoing commitment to giving back, Hawk Subaru is also donating $2,000 to Subies of the Corn, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Subaru Love Promise® initiatives. These initiatives reflect Subaru’s core values: caring for the environment, supporting education, helping pets, providing comfort to those in need, and giving back to the community.

About Subies of the Corn:
Subies of the Corn, also known as "SOTC," originated as a Subaru Enthusiasts Car Club in 2017 and evolved into an Illinois nonprofit corporation in August 2023. SOTC operates as a 501(c)(3) public charity, aligning with the Subaru Love Promise®. Subies of the Corn and its members have also collected and donated over 2,800 pounds of food addressing issues of food insecurity and contributed to environmental sustainability by collecting/recycling over 11,000 plastic grocery bags, diverting over 165 pounds of plastic from landfills.
