Hawk Subaru & Subies of the Corn Collect/Donate 1,067 Pounds of Food

As part of Subaru Loves to Help® Love Promise, Hawk Subaru, Subaru Ambassadors, and Subies of the Corn members collected and donated 1,067 pounds of food to Northern Illinois Food Bank, on the Subaru Ambassador’s Day of Caring. The donated food will provide 890 meals to those in northern Illinois experiencing food insecurity.

Subaru Ambassadors J. Mykel Hill, Christine Hill, Robert Barton, Eddie Groberski, and Matt Yazumbek, along with members of Subies of the Corn, coordinated with Hawk Subaru to collect the food and organized a car cruise to deliver the collected food directly to the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Joliet, IL.

Subies of the Corn admin and Subaru Ambassador Matt Yazumbek stated, “the Subaru Ambassador Day of Caring provides an opportunity for Subaru Ambassadors to demonstrate how we “Love to Care”. This year, we selected the Northern Illinois Food Bank as the charitable organization to support through their partnership with Feeding America. Hawk Subaru has been extremely supportive of our events and a true partner in our charitable efforts. In addition to the donations that we received at Hawk Subaru; we received a food shipment from a Subaru Ambassador in Alabama who wanted to contribute to our cause. There is incredible unity within the Subaru community, and we are so appreciative to Hawk Subaru for consistently demonstrating the Subaru Love Promise® through their commitment to our events!”

All attendees donating canned food received a Subaru rPET fitness towel, Subaru rPET tote, and Subaru Motorsports USA cups courtesy of Hawk Subaru. rPET products are made from recycled PET plastics (most commonly plastic water bottles), keeping with the Subaru Loves the Earth® Love Promise.

ABOUT SUBIES OF THE CORN
Subies of the Corn (SOTC) is a Subaru-based car club located in the southern Chicago suburbs, which focuses on charitable events that align with the Subaru Love Promise. Events include the annual Fill-a-Forester event benefiting Toys for Tots, Scavenger Hunt, Trunk-or-Treat, and monthly meets. Started in 2017, Subies of the Corn has donated more than $10,000 to local and national charities and over 3,200 toys for Toys for Tots.
