'How-To' Fair Set For Plainfield
The village, library and park district teamed up for the event.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Expand your world this fall by learning something new during Plainfield’s How-To Fair on Sept. 22. In one interactive, fun, and informative day, you can engage in over 25 free and different “how-to workshops!” All of the workshops are taught by local experts and business owners; learning opportunities range from cooking to fitness; from crafting to salsa dancing; and from installing a backsplash to knitting.
The How-To Fair has all the latest trends covered, with workshops conveniently located in Downtown Plainfield at one of three locations: Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport Street; Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois Street; and the Plainfield Township Community Center, 15014 S. DesPlaines Street.
Here's a sampling of the classes you’ll find at the fair:

- Aspiring chefs will enjoy learning how to make a simple Italian dinner.
- If entertaining is your game, impress your guests by learning how to pair wine and cheese, carve a watermelon basket, and how to make a flower arrangement in a margarita glass.
- Want to change up your workout? We have yoga and salsa dancing workshops plus learn how to become a 5K runner in just eight weeks.
- Redecorating or planning a DIY project? Learn how to repair drywall, install a mosaic backsplash, or paint.
- If crafts are your passion; learn how to crochet, make handmade cards, make a succulent out of felt, or make a chakra bracelet.

The How-To Fair is flexible to fit everyone’s schedule. Each workshop is one hour, so join us for one, two, or three sessions — whatever your interest and schedule allows.
