Library and Park District Celebrate Second StoryWalk® Display

Plainfield Area Public Library and the Plainfield Park District are excited to announce the installation of a second StoryWalk® at Clow Stephens Park. The first StoryWalk®, located at Settlers’ Park, has been delighting park goers of all ages for almost four years.

To mark the occasion, the Library is bringing together local animal rescues, businesses and more for Rescue Rally, a grand opening event that celebrates all things pet. Bring your pet and take a walk through Can I Be Your Dog? by Troy Cummings, the sweet story of a dog looking for his forever home, while enjoying food, fun, freebies and fur on Saturday, September 9 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Maybe you’ll meet your new best friend!

Visitors to Clow Stephens Park can already enjoy Goodnight, Butterfly by Ross Burach, on display until September 1.

The StoryWalk® Project was created in 2007 in Vermont as a way to promote healthy lifestyle choices and literacy. Pages of a children’s storybook are displayed along a path, allowing people of all ages to read an engaging story while taking a stroll. StoryWalks® have been installed in all 50 states and in several countries around the world. Clow Stephens Park is located at 16650 S. Lily Cache Rd. in Plainfield. The StoryWalk® begins near the east playground.
