PLAINFIELD, IL —An Aurora man is facing charges after police say he left "suspicious gold-colored tubes" at two Plainfield businesses that were found to contain child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

According to Plainfield police, in late December, they received a report of the tubes being left at two different businesses in Plainfield.

The tubes were collected as abandoned property and discovered to contain USB drives, police said. A forensic examination of the drives revealed they contained CSAM, officials allege.

During an investigation, police said detectives identified the person who left the gold tubes at the businesses as 22-year-old Chance A. Keller of the 100 block of Gregory Street in Aurora.

While executing a search warrant, police said detectives discovered additional evidence linking Keller to the placement of the tubes and the USB drives and "obtained several statements from him about the incident."

Calling the five-month investigation "lengthy and thorough," police said it included assistance from the FBI Regional Cyber Forensic Laboratory and led to an arrest warrant for Keller.

Keller was arrested Friday at his home and taken to the Plainfield Police Department, where he was processed on three counts of reproduction of child sexual abuse material and one count of child pornography, all felonies.

He was transferred to the Will County jail. Records show he is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
