More Movie Money Passed Off In Plainfield
A resident reported receiving fake cash during an exchange for an online transaction.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police are again warning residents to be on the lookout for fake money being passed off as the real deal. A month after police said movie money and "Chinese writing money" were being circulated in the village, they took another report of cinema cash being passed during an exchange for an online transaction.
The movie money — stamped with "For Motion Picture Use Only" — looks similar to the real thing, but has a seal identifying it as "cinema prop money." Police said a report recently came in from a resident who was given the funny money during an online sale, "and of course they met on a street corner somewhere."
To avoid being fooled, police offered the following tips on Facebook:

- Be aware when conducting these type of transactions.

- Perhaps take a look at the money before handing over the object and watching the "buyer" run away with your stuff.
