Plainfield Extends Street Parking Restriction
Some areas could get hit with up to a foot of snow.

PLAINFIELD, IL — With snow still falling and a winter storm warning in effect until 6 p.m. Friday (not to mention the possibility of more snow on Saturday), Plainfield police are reminding residents not to park on the street. Due to the storm, "we will not be approving overnight parking on any streets tonight or tomorrow," Plainfield police said on Facebook. Thursday. On Friday, they said they will continue restricting overnight street parking on Saturday as well.
The parking restrictions will leave streets clear as plows make their way through the area, police said.
"Less obstacles in the way = plows clearing our streets faster," police said.

The winter storm prompted school closings and more than 800 flight cancellations on Thursday and Friday. Trash pickup for those with Friday service was also delayed by one day.
