• Plainfield Marks 25th Anniversary Of 9/11 Terror Attacks With Event (patch.com) — Plainfield residents are invited to a 9/11 remembrance ceremony Friday at the fire department headquarters on W. 135th Street, marking 25 years since the attacks. The event will dedicate the front plaza and fire bell, and include a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., while also noting larger national observances in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.
   

• Joliet's Youth Gone Wild: 4 Underage Juveniles Captured After Handgun, Backpack Incident On Summer Rose Drive (patch.com) — Plainfield residents may notice their police department was called in to help Joliet officers track down four juveniles after a Labor Day weekend fight where two youths were allegedly beaten and robbed, and a handgun was recovered. A Plainfield K9 unit found a backpack linked to the case, and three of the boys were sent to the River Valley Justice Center.
   

• Obituary of Margaret Zelhart (fredcdames.com) — Plainfield community members are invited to honor Margaret Rose Zelhart with a luncheon at Friendship Baptist Church on Route 59 following her Sept. 21 services in Joliet. The longtime nurse, devoted cook, and antique lover leaves behind four children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a legacy of faith and family that touched both Joliet and Plainfield.
