Plainfield 2017 Halloween Sex Offender Safety Map

PLAINFIELD, IL — Before kids go out trick-or-treating on Halloween, fall is a good time to take an inventory of who is living in your neighborhood.

This map includes 37 registered sex offenders in Plainfield. It does not include an offender whose address is unknown and an offender who is listed on the registry as homeless, along with three offenders who are currently incarcerated. The offender whose address unknown, Jesus Lemus, "has fled the address given on registration records without notification," according to the registry. Lemus was arrested in Joliet in 2015 and charged with child porn for filming a teenage couple having sex. Timothy Carpenter is listed as homeless but Will County authorities gave an Anderson Street address last month when he was arrested on allegations he was in a public park.

Registered sex offenders are prohibited from passing out candy on Halloween. They may not appear in public in a Halloween costume or as another child-centered holiday character, such as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Registered sex offenders, however, may wear a Halloween costume in their home, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.

You may want to avoid trick-or-treating at these houses and apartments on Halloween, or merely be aware of who’s living in your neighborhood during the rest of the year.
