Plainfield Board OKs New Contract For Murphy
The four-year agreement expires in 2021.

PLAINFIELD, IL - After swearing in its newly elected trustees and village president, the Plainfield Village Board on Monday voted unanimously to approve a new four-year contract for Village Administrator Brian Murphy. Under the pact, Murphy receives a salary of $171,720.88, plus a monthly vehicle allowance of $600. The contract is valid from May 1 through the last day of Village President Mike Collins' current term, which expires in 2021.
Murphy, a Michigan native, has served in the role since 2009. According to the Better Government Association, his salary for 2016 was $163,446.32; in 2015, it was $159,460.
Also on Monday, Collins presented outgoing trustee Tom Ruane with a plaque in appreciation of his service as a Plainfield trustee, lauding him as a "very civic-minded individual." Appointed in February, Ruane served remaining two months of trustee Jim Racich's term after Racich resigned to move to Joliet.
