This innovative re-telling of the children’s classic includes all the traditional elements – Cinderella’s evil stepsisters, wicked stepmother, and the prince of her dreams. Except in this version, the prince is not particularly interested in getting married or giving his parents grandchildren.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Contact the PHSCC bookkeeping office at (815) 436-3200.
Plainfield South High School will perform perhaps the greatest horror story ever told – Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” -- at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015.
The character of Count Dracula is one of the most powerful gothic horror icons on stage and film and in literature. His combination of aristocratic style and intelligence masks a brutal and powerful evil.
The ancient Transylvanian monster has come to Victorian England, and those whose paths he crosses must fight him, or risk losing their lives.
Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students, seniors, and military veterans. Special treats will also be sold to raise money for the Drama Club.
Plainfield North High School will present “Arsenic and Old Lace,” the classic screwball comedy about two, sweet, elderly sisters – who happen to be killing their house guests and burying them in the basement.
This wonderfully-dark comedy will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 22, 2015; and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015.
“Arsenic and Old Lace” was first a stage smash and later immortalized in a movie starring Cary Grant as Mortimer Brewster. Mortimer discovers that his lovable spinster aunts have poisoned several guests as an act of kindness to help them find rest.
Making matters worse, Mortimer’s older brother, Jonathan has just escaped from a prison for the criminally insane, and his uncle believes he is Teddy Roosevelt.
Tickets are $5 for children, students and seniors, and $7 for adults.
As well, the Choir Boosters will sell concessions at intermission to raise money for their scholarship fund.
Plainfield East High School will present the Charles Dickens holiday masterpiece, “A Christmas Carol” at 7 p.m. Thursday November 19, Friday, Nov. 20, and Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015.
One of Dickens’ shortest books, “A Christmas Carol” is one of his most powerful morality plays, telling the tale of the bitter businessman Ebenezer Scrooge, who thinks Christmas is just wasted time that could be better spent on making more money.
However, he learns the error of his ways when three of the most famous ghosts in all of literature visit him over one night and show him how life might be if he doesn’t change his ways.
“A Christmas Carol” features a long list of revered characters including Scrooge’s deceased business partner, Jacob Marley, his overworked employee, Bob Cratchit and, of course, Bob’s sick son, Tiny Tim.
Tickets are $7 for the general public and $5 for District 202 staff, students, seniors, and children.
