Plainfield South Bass Club 6th Annual " Share your Boat with a Veteran

Plainfield South Bass Club held its 6th Annual " Share your Boat with a Veteran" @ Braidwood Lake Yesterday. It was cold& foggy at the start but at the end 24 Veterans caught fish and warmed our Hearts. ICASST held the H.S. tournament with 80 boats in it we were part of it. PSHS parents knocked this tournament out of the park. Lenny Bodell was there at 4:45 am helping launch boats in the dark. Donna Ponx & others ran the Veterans part handing out Fish Hog Baits tackle packs to all Anglers. Karen Gibson was working the ICCASST side. Chauncey Niziol from ESPN 1000 AM had the club on the radio promoting this event and he participated in the tournament. Dave van Dorn was there with the Fully wrapped Take -A-Vet Fishing Truck & Boat. Texas Roadhouse of Countryside owner & Sponsor of this event Paul Cannzino was in a boat wit Veteran Pete Rossi.

The PSHS H.S. parents were Rockstar right with the Veterans. A special thanks to Mike Salisbury of Lake County Water Sports for saying No We couldn't piggy- back off there "Operation pay the Back" program where Veterans can take their full wrapped pontoon boats out on Bangs lake for free. He pointed out we will do something special with the H.S. team and we came up with " Share your Boat with a Veteran ". Mike Watts of Fish Hog baits & Wizzard Custom Tackle has been with us all 6 years sponsoring the Veterans events. Same with Shimano & Frank Hyla.

We have plenty of local sponsors like Jiffy lube of Romeoville supporting the Veterans. God Bless our Veterans and everyone who helped support our efforts in giving back to the Veterans. The American legion Hall of Plainfield is our newest sponsor and big & Exciting changes coming soon from there! Just when you thought that was special Paul Cannzino from Texas Roadhouse called the team and invited the Coaches & Wife's to K9's for Veterans event at American Legion Hall of Plainfield last night. That was a tearful & amazing night. What a special and amazing day giving back to our Veterans. I'm so proud to be an American and thankful for our freedom.
