Plainfield's Cumberland Park Set To Receive New Equipment, Upgrades
Construction is expected to begin in late May or early June, according to officials at the Plainfield Park District.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Cumberland Park, operated by the Plainfield Park District, will undergo renovations and upgrades later this year, officials announced.
The 2.6-acre park at 6901 Gallatin Drive is set to receive updated play equipment, a fresh paint job on the existing shelter, new furniture and picnic tables and landscape additions. Some of the sidewalks will also be repaired, and an Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramp will be added.
Construction is expected to begin in late May or early June, officials said.

The park district evaluated playground surveys it received from residents, who provided "valuable feedback" on the project, officials said. Based on responses, the design in the rendering, shown below, was determined to best meet the community's needs.

Other Plainfield Park District-operated spaces also scheduled for renovations include The Ponds park and Mather Woods, Patch reported.
