Saints Cheer Teams Shine at National Competition

Plainfield, Illinois – The Saints youth cheer program capped off an extraordinary season with stellar performances last week at the 37th Annual Pop Warner Cheer and Dance National Championship held in Orlando, Florida. Over 500 teams come together to compete against the nation’s best. The Plainfield Saints Youth Association was proudly represented by the PeeWee and Junior Varsity teams, who demonstrated their talent, earning top placements on the national stage.

The PeeWee team earned an impressive 13th place in the nation in the highly competitive Show Cheer category. This accomplishment builds on their title as Mid-America Regional Champions earlier this season. Their hard work, dedication, and energy were on full display as they represented the Saints and their community with pride.

The Junior Varsity team delivered an unforgettable performance, earning 4th place in the nation in Show Cheer and 3rd place in the nation for their Sideline Performance. Earlier this season, the Junior Varsity team swept the competition at the Mid-America Regional Championships, earning Regional Champion titles in both Show Cheer and Sideline, as well as the coveted Grand Champion title for the highest Sideline score in the region.

“Our athletes poured their hearts into every routine this season, and their hard work and commitment paid off,” said Alyssa Gravelle, VP of cheer and JV head coach of the Saints. “We couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments and the way they represented our program and our community on the national stage.”

The Saints’ achievements this season are a testament to the athletes’ dedication, the leadership of their coaches, and the unwavering support of their families. These young athletes have not only proven themselves to be top competitors but also incredible ambassadors for the Saints cheer program.

As the season concludes, the Saints look forward to building on this year’s success and continuing to inspire future generations of athletes.
