Subaru Ambassadors Present $3,000 Donation to MorningStar Mission

Subaru Ambassadors, along with members of Subies of the Corn, today announced that they have made a donation to MorningStar Mission Ministries. The $3,000 donation will provide meals and care for 1,200 people in the Joliet and Will County area. The formal donation presentation was held on June 25, 2022, in conjunction with the Subaru Ambassador Day of Caring.

“Thank you, Subies of the Corn, for your generous donation to help those in need at Morningstar Mission Ministries here in Joliet, Illinois,” said Kevin Watson, Assistant Director, MorningStar Mission Ministries. “It's really cool to see people who have a passion for their Subarus use that passion to benefit those in need. Being a "Car Guy" myself, I am inspired and challenged to use my love of cars to benefit the less fortunate and accomplish a greater good.”

The funds for the donation were raised through the 2022 Subies of the Corn Scavenger Hunt, which was held on May 21, 2022. This event started at Hawk Subaru in Joliet, IL and took participants on a 115-mile journey to 10 locations, which included Ambler’s Texaco in Dwight, Gebhard Woods State Park in Morris, and the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles, IL. A clue had to be found and solved at each location, which provided the next stop in the Scavenger Hunt. Participants then drove as a cruise through the beautiful roads in the area to arrive at the next spot.

"This is our 3rd Scavenger Hunt and we selected MorningStar Mission Ministries as the recipient of the proceeds for the event,” stated J. Mykel Hill, Subaru Ambassador and Subies of the Corn Co-Founder. “MorningStar provides a much-needed resource for those in need in our area and we’re proud that our donation will help so many people with meals and care.”
