Traffic Signal To Be Activated At Route 30, 119th Street

The signal was installed as part of intersection improvements.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A permanent traffic signal will be activated starting Tuesday at Route 30 and 119th Street, according to the Village of Plainfield. The light was installed as part of intersection improvements that began in April.

The project included roadway widening, channelization and traffic signal installation and is intended to improve driving conditions, enhance safety and add turn lanes at each leg of the intersection, the village said earlier this year.

Work began April 23 and was set to be completed by the end of summer. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
