Watch Out For Credit Card Skimmers: Plainfield PD

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police are warning residents of a common scam which has recently resurfaced. Credit card skimmers have been found, Plainfield police said in a tweet.

"ATM's, Gas Pumps, Point of Sale Devices, restaurants and fast food establishments are potential targets," they said.

Be sure to give the credit card slot a tug if possible before using machines. This may not prevent all data theft, but it will prevent some. Police ask that if you find a skimmer, then to call them at 815-436-2341.
