'Hoax' Romeoville HS Bomb Threat Made By Out-Of-State Juvenile: VVSD
The juvenile who made the threat, and another who may have had knowledge of said threat, will face appropriate charges, Kinder said.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — A bomb threat that was received at Romeoville High School on Tuesday was "a hoax threat with no credibility," Valley View School District Superintendent Rachel Kinder said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The out-of-state juvenile identified as making the threat, and the juvenile who may have had knowledge of said threat, will face appropriate disciplinary and criminal charges," Kinder said.
The Romeoville Police Department confirmed there was not a threat to safety on the high school campus on Tuesday, after students and staff were evacuated from the building for a few hours.

"As hoax calls and threats continue to be an issue facing schools, this situation serves as a very important reminder to students of the severity of making threats or creating a disruption to a safe school environment," Kinder said. "Please speak with your child about making responsible choices, including in their electronic and social media usage and communication. Poor decisions can have life-altering consequences."
In the last few months, several bomb threats have been reported at schools and libraries across the Chicago area.
