Romeoville Cops Investigate Rash of Burglaries

Four burglaries reported between March 28 and April 6.

Someone smashed the door of a business in the 300 block of North Independence sometime before 6:56 a.m. and stole approximately $50 in cash.

would-be burglar entered a residence through an unlocked door in the 0-100 block of Belmont sometime before 9:48 p.m. When confronted by the resident, the intruder ran from the home. Nothing was taken from the residence.

Someone tried to rip off a refrigerator from a residence in the 300 block of Homer sometime before 1:31 p.m. Police said the would-be burglar damaged the door when they tried to removed refrigerator from the residence. Damage is estimated as $175.

An attempted residential burglary was reported in the 100 block of Cherrywood Lane sometime before 9:37 p.m. Police said the would-be burglar damaged the screen of the sliding glass door while attempting to gain entrance to the property. Estimated cost to repair is $20.
