Romeoville Community Invited To Sixth Annual Spartan Classic

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville High School Marching Spartans will host the sixth annual Spartan Classic on Saturday, according to a release from the high school's Band Booster Association.

The Spartan Classic will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Romeoville High School, 100 N. Independence Blvd. The event is open to the community.

Bands are classified in three class sizes, A, AA, and AAA, according to the release. Bands of America scoring sheets are utilized by a panel of caption judges, with first, second and third place awards given to each class.
Caption awards are given for outstanding percussion auxiliary, visual effect and music. The caption awards will be awards that can be used in the school’s band program, such as a snare drum, color guard flag bag and more, the association said.

The special needs King Cobras Drumline will also perform in a special showcase at the event, and the RHS Marching Spartans will present their show, "The Darkness Within," as an exhibition performance.
Admission is $15 for adults; $10 for students and seniors; 5 and under are free; and $40 for a group of two adults and two students or seniors. All proceeds support the RHS Marching Band program.
