Romeoville Man Caught in Aurora Underage Prostitution Sting

Seven people were apprehended last week in the operation that was headed up by Aurora police and federal agents.

A Romeoville man was accused of trying to have sex with a minor in connection with an undercover prostitution sting in Aurora last week that apprehended six other people, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Anthone Caradine, 27, was charged with involuntary sexual servitude of a minor, traveling to meet a minor and grooming, all felonies, the report stated. A Lisle man—William Shyu, 30—also was charged with the same offenses, the report added.

Aurora police, along with federal agents, posted fake online ads offering sex, the report stated. Undercover agents made it clear that the defendants would be having sex with underage girls before arranging to meet them at an Aurora hotel, the report added.

Along with Caradine and Shyu, another man and four women also were arrested in the sting, the report stated. Authorities also impounded six vehicles and seized about $1,000, the report added.

Currently, Caradine and Shyu are being held on $400,000 bond at the Kane County Correctional Center. Caradine’s court date is April 3 and Shyu’s is April 16.
