Power Outages Reported In Parts Of Romeoville, Joliet, Lockport
Reports of a downed utility pole, tree limbs after 70 mph winds.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — As of just before 7:30 p.m., ComEd was reporting more than 4,500 customers without power in Romeoville and 3,200 in the Joliet area Sunday after a severe storm swept through Will County. About 640 were without power in Plainfield Township, according to the utility. Some customers in hardest-hit Romeoville were told they could expect power to be restored by 7 a.m. Monday.
Sunday's severe weather was just the latest recent bout of rain. Over the last three days, rainfall totals showed more than 4 inches of rain in Joliet and Romeoville and about 3.95 inches in Plainfield. Residents of some parts of Will County were reporting storm damage and downed tree limbs, including Lockport, where a utility pole snapped, bringing down power lines and closing High Road. About 3,300 customers were without power in Lockport, according to ComEd, and about 40,000 customers throughout Chicagoland were facing outages.
A cold front was expected to move into the Chicago area Sunday night, bringing dryer, cooler air, according to the NWS. The forecast calls for partly to mostly sunny weatherthrough Thursday, when storms could roll back into the Kendall County area.
