Cops Chase Down Joliet Man Armed With Handgun After Shooting: Police
The cops heard gunshots and then apprehended a man with a firearm, police said.

The cops chased down a Joliet man armed with a gun immediately after they heard shots fired, police said.
Artemio Mata, 21, was apprehended on Market Street near Jefferson Street about 11 p.m. Friday. Mata lives on the same street where he was captured, police said.
Officers who heard gunshots noticed Mata and he took off running, police said. While he was fleeing, Mata allegedly tossed away a handgun.

Mata was charged with the reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and obstructing a peace officer. He was taken to the Will County jail and his bond was set at $20,000.
