Here Comes Santa Claus Here Comes Santa Claus Right to The Timbers of Shorewood
The Timbers' annual holiday event is a town favorite.

Santa Claus will listen to children’s wishes and pose for photos at the eighth annual Timbers’ holiday event, “Santa and the Elves,” from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at retirement community, 1100 N. River Road.
This event has become a favorite holiday festival for the entire community.
“Families can have a wonderful Saturday afternoon,” said Shelly Goggins, activities director at The Timbers. “There will be treats, surprises and animals galore including real reindeer from Summerfield Farms in Belvidere.”

Phil Nielson is bringing his draft horses for hay rides, and Friendly Farms of DeKalb is bringing lots of small animals, including goats, chickens and sheep, for everyone to pet.
In addition, juggler Mike Vondruska will be on hand, and Officer Kim Guigler will do face-painting. Dan Laib and Angel Contreras will draw caricatures of festival-goers of all ages, and Russ Schreck will draw portraits.

From 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. the Plainfield Community Chorus will present a holiday concert featuring Christmas carols and Santa songs.
From 2:30 to 3 p.m., the Little People will put on a show. Founded in 1979, Those Funny Little People Enterprises, Inc., has created dozens of original characters who perform hundreds of mini-musicals. The group particularly enjoys performing at retirement communities.
The Timbers of is a rental retirement community. The Timbers provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay — a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
