No More Taco Bell For Joliet Man Arrested By Shorewood Police At Route 59 Restaurant: Judge
A criminal complaint was filed last week by the Shorewood Police Department against Joliet defendant Derek Guardiola Jr.

SHOREWOOD, IL — A 20-year-old Joliet man who was arrested last month following a violent confrontation with another person during the wee hours of the morning at the Taco Bell in Shorewood can no longer patronize the Taco Bell restaurant on Route 59, according to Will County Judge Chrystel Gavlin.
Although the arrest by the Shorewood Police Department took place Jan. 10, it was not until last week when the Will County State's Attorney's Office filed their criminal complaint against Derek Guardiola Jr. of Joliet's 400 block of Eastern Avenue.
Shorewood police informed Joliet Patch they do not have a mugshot for Guardiola, who was given a summons to appear at the courthouse on charges of battery. The court summons indicates Guardiola stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 355 pounds.

Guardiola's arrest happened around 4:40 a.m. at 996 Brook Forest Avenue, which is the Taco Bell. According to the criminal complaint, Guardiola is now charged with three crimes of battery.
He is accused of striking another man in the face on Jan. 10, punching the man in the face and pushing him about the body.

At last Friday's hearing, Will County Judge Chrystel Gavlin allowed Guardiola to remain free; however, she ordered him to stay away from his victim, and he must avoid the Taco Bell in Shorewood, at 996 Brook Forest Ave.
The Shorewood Taco Bell stays open until 3 a.m. five days a week and until 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturdays.
