Sleeping Joliet Man Wakes Up To Bullets Hitting His House: Police

The house next-door was hit as well.

A sleeping Joliet man woke to gunfire and found out from his wife that someone shot up their house.

The shooter opened fire at the house on Landau Avenue about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. The house next-door was hit by bullets as well.

While the gunshots woke the 65-year-old man, he was not aware his house had been targeted until his wife discovered the damage. Officers later found spent shell casings across the street.

The man reportedly told police he suspects the gun attack stems from a court case he was involved in that recently ended. He believes a woman involved in the case—or her husband—shot his house, police said.
